RACE DETAILS
Bee Quick was sent off the 2/5 favourite with just one rival pitted against him. However, his supporters soon knew their fate as sole rival Madeira went off in front and was soon clear to win in the hands of ‘Red’ Denis Wynne by an easy 6 lengths. The owner William Bourke masked his true identity behind ‘Mr Holland’. In truth he was a very successful businessman from Roscrea who founded a stud and training stables at Kilmartin House.

2/5 fav Be Quick
2/1 Madeira
  Over round 103%
Although Madeira won in a canter by 6 lengths, the form is difficult to assess because there is no evidence that either Madeira or Be Quick ran before or after the race at The Curragh. Therefore the rating is a cautious 1840.
